Medium: faux flower petals and fringe
Amidst the COVID-19 quarantine, I needed something to center myself and take my mind off the world's chaos. That was the impetus for me to create my abstract faux flower petal collage process and style. The method of dismantling flower arrangments to individual petals and then rearranging them to create new flowing patterns was meditative and therapeutic. With a focus on healing, this collection of serpentine swirls and spirals became heavily inspired by naturally occurring patterns, as they have an enduring calming effect on the human psyche. The series has expanded to possess a dreamlike quality, blurring the line between reality and imagination.
