Fragrant Offering

I choose to paint flowers because I can express my passion for color, shapes, movement, and life through recreating such beauty. My oil painting “Fragrant Offering” is of the “fiesta” peony variety that blooms in my garden every May. I have exaggerated it’s beauty in size and shades of color to bring a larger than life feel to something that lasts only a few days once a year but keeping with the beauty of brushwork and layers of color.
