Painting includes layers of encaustic fused to a wood panel using a blowtorch. The Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington DC, is a very special time of year for me since my early childhood. The cherry trees not only mark the beginning of Spring but also celebrate the joy and hope of a new year. I honor this long-time tradition by creating a cherry tree painting every Spring.
