CALL FOR ENTRY ‘Art in Bloom’ Exhibition March 22 - April 30, 2023
Martha Spak Gallery invites artists to submit their 2D and 3D art for this themed exhibition "Art in Bloom". Enter work that is any interpretation of the celebration of spring. Share your artistic vision with us. All mediums are welcome.

A vital vehicle for many contemporary artists is to show their work to eager collectors and be recognized for their talents. This exhibition coincides with the National Cherry Blossom Festival in DC which attracts tens of thousands of visitors to our area. We are located just steps from many Cherry Blossom events and the picturesque blossoms.

Cash prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Second Place and Third Place. There will also be the People’s Choice Award chosen by Wharf visitors. This exhibition will be both in the gallery and online. We can’t wait to see your work. Submit now!

JUROR Glen Kessler is the Founder and Director of The Compass Atelier as well as a Gamblin Dedicated Workshop instructor. He has taught at the university and community level for over 20 years. He has a BFA from MICA and an MFA from New York Academy of Art. His artwork is internationally collected and awarded.

ARTWORK Eligibility

• Artist must be at least 18 years and older and be able to deliver and pickup their artwork at the Gallery in Washington, DC.
  
• All 2D and 3D entries must be original and created solely by the artist.
  
• Work must be for sale
  
• A $35 entry fee to submit up to 3 works of art. The maximum size of artwork allowed is 36” x 48”. Please consider artwork size when applying. 
• Both the entry form and payment are required for exhibit consideration. Entry fees are non-refundable.

NOTIFICATION

• All artists will receive notification by email.
  
• Accepted artists and artwork will also be posted on the Gallery website.
  

AWARDS

Cash awards chosen by juror for Best in Show, 2nd Place, 3rd Place announced at the opening reception March 25.

SALES

• Artists will retain 60% from sales. The Gallery retains 40% commission on any work sold through the Gallery.

NOTIFICATION: March 7, 2023

ARTWORK DROP OFF: March 19, 2023 12-6pm or March 20, 2023 11-4pm

EXHIBITION: March 22, 2023 - April 30, 2023

OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 6-8PM Juror Awards: Best in Show, 2nd Prize, 3rd Prize announced.

ART PICK UP: April 30, 2023 12-6pm
